Moving in Ibiza: useful information.
Ibiza has an excellent public transport network, with buses and ferries that link all the main tourist sites and the cities of the Island; also in Formentera the public transport is good, especially considering its small population.
However, if you want to explore all over the island, including the most isolated areas, it will be necessary to rent a car; it is also possible to rent bike or bicycles, ideal for exploring the many coastal areas that are not possible to be crossed with the vehicles.
BUS

The public service from and to the main tourist resorts and cities is active from 7.30 in the morning until around midnight, from June until the late September, and from 7.30 until the 21.30 in winter. The smaller coastal areas and the village are less connected and the races are really rare in winter; on the contrary, the bus to the main and most popular beaches are increased in the months from June until the late September.
The buses timetable are available at the Tourist offices or on the website www.ibizabus.com. The service, in addition to be punctual, it is also very economic: the tickets cost 1.50 euros for the journey from Ibiza town to Sant Antoni, up to 2.30 euros for the longer route, that goes from Ibiza town to Portinatx.
From half June until the end of September there is a night service with shuttles, every hour, and it passes for: Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni, in particular in front of the Amnesia and Privilegi clubs; Ibiza Town and Platja d’en Bossa, before Space; Sant Antoni and Port des Torrent; Es Canar and Santa Eularia; Santa Eularia and Ibiza Town. During the rest of the year this service is limited only to Saturday evening; tickets cost 1.50 euros. For more information please contact: 971 192 456.

The ferries, more frequent in the months from May to October, go: from Ibiza town to Talamanca and Platja d’en Bossa; from Sant Antoni to Cala Bassa and Cala Compte; from Santa Eularia to the north-east beaches, including Es Canar. The prices range from 3 to 7 euros, according to the route.
