Minorca is not very large, about 45 X 25 Km and it is the second island of the Balearic Islands to surface in Km square. The coast is mostly rocky, the longest beaches of the island are located in the south-centre. The island is mostly flat, with the only mountain named Monte Toro high 350 m. circa. Minorca is situated in the centre of the Mediterranean sea and 400 km far from Spain, France and Africa.
It has been declared an UNESCO heritage for its natural reserve. The capital of the island is Mahon it is the most populated city. Its harbour is reached by all the ferries that arrive from the other islands and from Spain.
The other most populated city is Ciutadella that is located in the low part of the island and it is more characteristic and traditional if compared to the capital.
