SA COLOBRA

Sa Colobra is a small tourist location, very modern and full of comforts, which is after the uncontaminated and very exclusive bay of Cala Tuent.
Sa Calobra, as its western border, it was born within a minute inlet, a beautiful gulf protected by the nearby mountains that surround it majestically.
The natural landscape, as also the position and the territory, are the most beautiful of the island, but unfortunately they have been literally devastated by the overcrowding tourist district that has disfigured the area, making it the most commercial and urbanized part of the region of the northern Mallorca.
This particolar urbanization of this side of the coast, has carried out some horrible consequences: first of all the natural landscape ruin that you can’t really notice once arrived on the beach and you swim in the sea which has remained clean and clear; secondly, all those tourist damages, such as the high way of life, starting from the parking lots which cost 4 euros; finally, the worst food that you can eat in most of the coffee bars- local restaurants, is really bad (too expensive, too quick and too cooked!), especially if compared to the other kitchen level of the island; then, the intolerable chaos that is present in this area during the high season.
At this point, the question is one of these: how come that all the public and private transport companies land each day (during the summer season) at least a load of tourists, despite the mediocrity of this area and the chance to find in the immediate vicinity places which are better from all the points of view?
The answer is simple: most of the people that go on holiday resorts in Sa Calobra are in reality attracted by the incredible canyon that is situated in this location, and specifically in the outlet pouring of Torrent de Pareis, namely the Twins river, a show that you cannot miss if you visit this region.
To arrive to the canyon, there is a small pedestrian road that surrounds the whole circular sideof the gulf: passing within a tunnel partially covered you arrive, after about 10 minutes walk, to the canyon.
Here the spectacle is phenomenal: in the midst of very high and wide cliffs, that is precisely the canyon walls, runs this dense and greenish river that vanishes until it gets to its outlet; the final stretch of the river bed is embanked by thin wood axes that, like a dike, prevent its final access to the sea.
Suddenly, the scenario changes completely: in fact, close to of the outlet, the river goes beyond the canyon walls until it dives into the intense blue sea.
