Port d'Alcudia is 2 kilometers south of the Alacudia town, rose on the land strip that divides the two large bays, Badia de Pollenca and Badia d'Alcudia.
This Resort is among the most famous and crowded in the north, and truly offers all the comforts that you need on holiday.
At first sight this land strip appears as an interminable sequence of expensive hotels, all very flashy and luxurious but with prices sufficiently variables, in addition to a series of summer apartments; and how can be lacking in this scenario the many restaurants, cafes and bars, that make the night life of the place very lively and enliven.
From the description, but also from the exterior aspect of the place, the Port d'Alcudia area may seem very similar to the chaotic Badia de Palma; but, if you go beyond the initial appearances, you understand that in reality there are two separate worlds, as the Port d'Alcudia area is extremely more controlled in its urban development.
And, in fact, here the buildings are well distributed and were built in the respect of the nature and of the surrounding environment, without spoiling the marvelous panorama, the main attractiveness of this place; furthermore, the roads of the village are very ordered, clean and well maintained and it is very pleasant entering in town in each hour of the day.
Finally, the area is very attended by all the types of tourism, from the wild youth and in search of fun, up to quiet families and in search of a little rest, and this variety of clients is possible thanks to a calm and relaxed atmosphere, respectful of the various needs.
Certainly, the part of this area which attracts the majority of the mass of people during the summer, is the beautiful beach, the most attended and crowded point during the day; the view is wonderful, with this wide arch of golden sand dotted here and there by wonderful pines, which form the Badia d'Alcudia bay, starting from the two jetty (docks) that are in the port area of Port d'Alcudia, which has different functions: it is, in fact, a marina, a port from which depart the small cruises and the boats for the organized trips, and finally is the port for the fishermen's boats, which are many around the area.
However, the bay, which began precisely from this pleasant little town, it is very large and completely occupied by beaches, all very crowded, especially in the northern zone; the coast that is so vast that it is difficult to move and remember where it is your position…a very good method is to look at the civic numbers of the “balnearios” (the beach bars) scattered along the whole coast.
To move from one side to another of the gulf, in addition to a pedestrian crossing that skirts the back line of the beach, there is al fast and comfortable means: this is a little tourist toy train without rails that from June to September travel throughout the coast leaving every hour and carrying the tourists of all ages.
Plus, the main Port d'Alcudia street, Carretera d'Artà, is literally disseminated with an enormous number of rent companies where it is possible to hire, in addition to the cars, also scooters, motorcycles and bicycles.
And, it is needless to say, even the short cruises and boat trips offers are rather wide: all the boats depart from the marina, and among the most voted destinations there are those to the rocky coast to the north east of Port d'Alcudia, to the Formentor peninsula: without a doubt, this area is among the most panoramic views of the whole Mallorca and it offers a natural scenario that is difficult to not love!
