The tourist station of Cala Major is situated a few kilometres at the west of the Palma harbour where it is possible to embark on the ferries with different destination.
This coast area, always very crowded, it is rather rocky and hilly and once was an elite place, synonymous of luxury and elegance. In fact, on the main road there are the ancient noble buildings as, for example, the "Modernista" or the Nixe luxury hotel, once attended by the high society.
In particular, we can mention the Palacio de Marivent, where the owner is the king of Spain and can be seen from the motorway from the east side of the tourist village.
