Cala Estellencs is only two kilometers far from the village of the same name and we can get there walking along a small and winding road, but very pleasant, that descends from the village surrounded by enchanting olive groves and orange groves.
The small Cala Estellencs bay, protected by high rocky cliffs, it is mostly formed by a pebbly beach, where you can find a small, but nice summer bar.
Here the sea is often rough, with high waves breaking on the reef, then it is not the most ideal place to swim in relax.
However, if you decide to visit Cala Estellencs, you cannon help to go to the nearby city of Estellencs, which is about 7 kilometers south west of Banyalbufar.
The village, very similar to the nearby Banyalbufar, shows no sign of tourist development and it has remained completely untouched, with its narrow, winding streets and the parrish dating back to the XVIIIth century.
Only six kilometers from Estellencs, going towards Banyalbufar, there is one of the best panoramic points of all the Mallorca coast: this is the Mirador de Ses Animes, a tower built in the XVIth century to control the coast and protect it from the attacks of the pirates: today, this old tower offers one of the best workstations for magnificent views of the whole island. |
