The Salines beach is a wonderful strip of fine white sand that stretches for about one kilometre, backed by pines and dunes that confer an exotic and local atmosphere.
This is, without a doubt, one of the most exclusive area of Ibiza, where the mass of fierce and fanatics revellers of the extreme tanning, love to show off and pull off under the eyes of the most fashion "public" of the Island.
The beach is punctuated here and there by rocky areas which virtually divide the various parts of the beach: in the north band, near the Cafe Guarana', usually station quieter and moderate families and groups, who sunbathe surrounded by small pallets and buckets abandoned on the beach by the many children of this family side.
In the south the panorama changes: around the café Sa Trinxa meet the most trendy people of Ibiza that show their golden bodies, sometimes showing off a total tan (also many nudist populate this portion of beach).
The sandy coves over the Sa Trinxa step: these small gulfs, formed by bizarre rocky formations, recently were adorned by excellent sculptors who have engraved some images in the stone that delimit the coast; these art works depict fantastic creatures, such as a terrifying dragon with its teeth well in show and wearing an ancient Maya mask.
If you want to secure a place in one of these tiny bays you need to get there almost at the dawn, as they already tend to get full in the early morning; moreover, it is possible to encounter a few devoted of the region who claim the place almost as it if was a sort of private beach.
However, over these little bays ends the sandy area and begins a narrow, arid and rocky promontory at the end of which there is, high on the tip of the slope, the ancient defensive tower Torre de Ses Portes.
