As already said, the Cala Conta and Cala Compte beaches are among the most appreciated of the whole Ibiza for various reasons, all valuables.
Cala Compte is situated slightly to the north of Cala Conta and its large inlet is occupied by two sandy bays, one of which is frequented by naturist and hippy; here you can find a nice “chiringuito” (a beach bar) where one can whet excellent snacks and drinks something fresh.
Just in front of the Cala Compte bay, slightly far away, there are two beautiful islands: S'Illa des Bosc and Conillera.
S'Illa des Bosc, which means "island of the forests”, has a little misleading name, because it was completely deforested by a fire that destroyed all the trees more than a century ago.
The small island is far from the coast of Ibiza, about 400 meters, but the crossing is recommended only to expert swimmers and exclusively with a completely flat sea: in fact in this marine corridor that divides Cala Compte from S’Illa des Bosc are often present strong submarine currents.
The Conillera island is much more extended than S'Illa des Bosc and it is slightly to the north of this one.
The island is visible from various points of the Sant Antonio bay, from which its long raised contour points out the form of a beached whale.
The history of the island is very charming and rich of legends of any kind: it is said for example, that this is the place of origin of Hannibal, or it is stated that you can find the hallucinatory plant "beleno blanco", which is taken by the practitioner pagans who use it to make a bonfire during the Sant Joan night.
