Formentera Beaches

Platja de Migjorn

platja de Migjorn, which literally means "the midday beach", is an amazing beach of fine golden sand that extends to all of the southern coast of the central Formentera strip; this wonderful portion of coast stretches for about six kilometers and competes with the beaches of the Trucador peninsula for the title of the most beautiful beaches of all Formentera.
The sea that wet this side of the island is equally charming, with its intense blue and bright waters.
Most of the area has remained rather uncontaminated and, in fact, the urban and tourist development has remained confined to the two extremities:  one part, in the western side, there is Es Ca Mari', about 3 kilometers south of Sant Ferran; it is an area occupied by the hotel structures which are rather isolated from the beach.
In the other extremity, on the east, there is Mar i Land which includes two big hotels.
For the rest, the area is characterized by a quite natural teriitory with a really exceptional landscape.
However, if you want to visit the best part of this wonderful coast, follow the following information: when you arrive at the km 8 on the motorway, go towards south, then turn on a path that crosses enchanting golden wheat fields and fig trees, separated and trail by dry walls, characteristic of Formentera…then, you get an absolutely astonishing and picturesque view. The road ends on sandy dunes preceding a wonderful beach.
Nearby there are two famous bars: the Lucky and the legendary Blue Bar.
