Mar i Land (which can be pronounced ad Maryland) is situated east of the extremity Platja de Migjorn beach, precisely near the Km 13 on the highway.
In this coastal area have arisen two huge hotel complexes, precisely on the side of the coast and they are the only sign of urban development of this part of the island (in addition to the hotels that are located on the second point of the Platja de Migjorn beach).
In the Mar i Land area there is a beach, known as Es Arenals, that is certainly the most populated part of all the south coast.
Although this beach is completely full of people during the summer months, its sea is not among the safest because of the strong currents that often are unpredictable and uncontrollable: it is recommended to pay the most attention, especially if you want to swim a bit far from the bank.
However, during the months from May to September, on the beach are present professional attendants that provide the service all day
