this wonderful dunes island and charcterized by sandstone rocks, is especially famous for the wonderful S'Alga beach, an arch of fine sand wet from the crystal clear and sparkling sea, with shallow water.
During the summer months its beaches are full of tourists, many of which are part of a one day travel organized from Ibiza, with La Savina as destination: Espalmador, a predetermined stage of this journey, is a favourite destination by the Ibiza tourists.
Another favourite destination by the island Espalmador visitors, are the small mud lakes, a sulphurous source where you can enjoy healthy mud masks at the same level of those proposed by the expensive beauty centres.
This "tin" is situated a few minutes walk from the beach, heading towards the north, and, if you decide to go there in the morning or late in the afternoon these lakes are practically deserts and therefore you can relax in the (almost) solitude.
The lake consists of an area of approximately 4 hectares that, unfortunately, were considerably dried out in the recent years because of the scarce rains, however, also in the peak of summer, remain three or four little scraps of soft sludge, where you can immerge for an healthy, relaxing and regenerating bath.
Finally, it is important to point out the only monument on the island: known with the name of Torre de Sa Guardiola, this is a defensive tower of the eighteenth century. The tower, which is on the west side of the Espalmador island, has two floors and it is open on the side; large enough, it is widely visible from the ferry bridges on the Ibiza route.
