Es Pujols is 2 kilometers north of Sant Ferran and it is the only Formentera tourist centre specifically built to welcome the great mass of vacationers in summer; for the rest of its territory, the island it has remained fairly uncontaminated and alien to the commercial urbanisation, so that makes the place a quiet alternative to the highly overcrowded close islands, openly more inclined to develop the industry of the tourism.
Es Pujols is, however, a small vacation resort locations, simple but very fascinating, and mainly frequented by German and Italian tourists.
The fact that this is a rather contained place it is the reason of why so many visitors chose to come here. Es Pujols is a lively and active place without exceeding in the noise; there are a lots of bars and cafè and a small club (Xueno) that does not completely disfigure the area filling it with bars and clubs of a certain quality...so, Es Pujols is the right compromise because there is everything you want from a sea vacation but there are no excesses.
Certainly, the thing that you may not absolutely miss, a basic element, is a beach with the characteristic standards of the Balearic Islands; the beach of Es Pujols, represents the reason for choosing this area because it is situated in north –ovest of the tourists station, just opposite the residential area, with its hotels, its residences and apartments.
The beach is truly exceptional and it is formed by two half-rings made of fine and white sand and they are half separated from a low and scattered row of rocks and deranged fishermen huts.
The beach is literally invaded by a multitude of tourists during the months of the high season; especially in August, it is hard to find a place in the midst of the mass of people with tanned bodies, who stretch in the sun on comfortable cots and deckchairs.
In these months the waters reach tropical temperatures and they reach the maximum in the summer peak.
However, despite the crowd that can fill Es Pujols, it is always pleasant to bathe in its turquoise and shallow waters or relax on the beach, which is the only attraction of the place.
In addition to the coast, in fact, there is absolutely nothing to see so, that is why it is important to enjoy the fantastic sea.
With some regards to the evening, this can start in one of the best ways with a nice dinner in one of the many seafood restaurants scattered on the seafront; the walk to the search for a place where to eat it is even more pleasant thanks to the light breeze near the sea that caresses the avenue and also to the many stands scattered along the way.
After dinner you can spend the rest of the evening in one of the Es Pujols bars, certainly the most alive and animated area of the whole Formentera during the summer nights.
The night scene is very populated especially in the adjacent street to the promenade, C/ Espardell and in the streets around: this is the true heart of the night life of Es Pujols.
Finally, if you want to breath the typical atmosphere of these islands, with a propensity slightly hippy, it is advisable to visit Riamblu or go to the Xueno disco, the only club in Formentera.
