Es Cavall and Moll’des Carregador: to the west of the salines is situated a thin strip of sand, that is the Es Cavall beach, also known with the name of Cala Savina.
The beach, small and relatively isolated, has several advantages, as a fantastic sea, ideal for long and relaxing swims.
Furthermore, the Es Cavall beach was surrounded by a dense array of pines, which offer a bit of shade for resting from the sun during the hot months or for intimate pic-nics.
On the beach you can find two excellent beach bars, very famous in the area: the Big Sur and the Tiburon. These two small beach bars can be truly considered the best of all Formentera, but to confirm their fame are also the very high prices.
Finally, if you decide to spend a day at the sea in the area of Es Cavall, it is advisable to visit the near Moli' des Corregador: this enormous mill, very old, once upon a time it served for entering the sea water in the salines; recently it has been renovated and converted into a restaurant specialized in fish and seafood courses, it is also very expensive and the quality does not justify the high prices.
However the mill it is very evocative and characteristic and you can get there with a short walk through a sandy path that starts at the north of the Es Cavall beach.
